AFFLUENT and M101 Jazzes Up Launch of Design Suites by Studio F. A. Porsche

On 31st May, AFFLUENT and M101 teamed up to launch and unveil the revolutionary property company’s latest project in Kuala Lumpur, M101 Skywheel Design Suites, which is designed by Studio F. A. Porsche.

The AFFLUENT affair was held at the Montreux Jazz Café in the Pan Pacific Orchard Singapore. Over 40 distinguished guests attended the soiree, including M101’s Chief Executive Officer, Dato Seth Yap, and the head of Studio F. A. Porsche Asia, Mr. Tobias Hüttl.

M101’s team members from Malaysia and their Singapore representing sales team from ERA were also present during the launch.
Guests were treated to free flow of martini cocktails and Montreux Jazz Café’s signature bites such as truffles fries, their mouth-watering Beef burger and much more.

M101 Skywheel, designed by Studio F. A. Porsche, is a start of many firsts for KL City.

M101 Skywheel is the first in the world to feature a sky Ferris wheel with a luxurious sky mall 200 metres above ground, as well as the first in Asia with a Planet Hollywood Hotel at the same height above ground. It’s also the first integrated development designed by Studio F. A. Porsche in the world. The 78 storeys M101 Skywheel stands on a freehold land strategically located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur City Center, giving the iconic development an unobscured view of the Kuala Lumpur City skyline.

All eyes were on the exclusive Design Suites during the event. They are exclusive 96 units, which each one coming with high-tech appliances — designed by Studio F. A. Porsche — in the kitchen and entertainment area, among others. With the Design Suites, the Studio F. A. Porsche challenges conventional thinking by creating an experience for its residents through a new 3-dimensional interpretation of space – space as a product, space as an experience and space as a function.

The personalised interior for each unit is very architectural – but yet functional, modern puristic and iconic. The fully furnished units come in three layouts — 2 bedroom (1,018 sq ft), 1+1 bedroom (909 sq ft) and 1+1 bedroom (879 sq ft). Owners of Design Suites will enjoy facilities such as an infinity pool, gym and sauna amongst Kuala Lumpur skyscrapers on the 78th floor.

The Suites’ aesthetics will be similar to those of M101 Skywheel’s, with signature red stripes, reflective black glass and titanium pedestals. The interior will have grey, onyx and charcoal-toned materials, with steel and dark wood finishes. Each unit will come with high-tech appliances such as a smart home system.

For instance, instead of conventional doors, the spaces can be easily separated by a central monument whilst others are interchangeable by a siding cabinetry. The M101 Skywheel Design Suite is elegance at its best. Further keeping the essence of the Porsche brand, each unit will receive a limited edition customized watch by Studio F. A Porsche. Each watch’s serial number will mirror the property respectively, giving the residents a sense of ownership.

“These suites are higher-end, and we are targeting a specific set of clientele. Our whole development will have a range of target markets, from the middle-income earners to high-net-worth individuals, in line with our concept of a self-sustaining, ‘horizontal township’,” said M101 Holdings chief executive officer Datuk Seth Yap.

After a day of shopping, unwind with a plethora of F&B outlets and cuisines to fill your senses while taking in the amazing KL City skyline view.

M101 Skywheel will also have the first Planet Hollywood hotel in Asia, where each room and suite features one-of- a-kind movie memorabilia setting. Another very distinctive feature of Skywheel is the sky Ferris- wheel, the very first in the world. The Ferris-wheel will be positioned on the 52nd floor and at its highest vantage point, providing a view from 220m above ground.

Experience retail therapy high literally, the Skymall will be the highest mall in the world occupying the 48th – 52nd floor of M101 Skywheel. With over 200,000 sq ft of retail space, ranging from everyday brand to ultimate luxury to amaze a global clientelle. M101 Skywheel is targeted to be completed by 2022. Studio F.A. Porsche mainly works as a design consultancy. Their design approach and DNA are puristic and based on form, and how it corresponds with function.

In the past, the studio designed a wide range of products and projects, such as the new Airbus A350 business class for Cathay Pacific, private bar for Johnnie Walker, Sonja speaker for YG Acoustics, Royal Falcon Speedboat Casanova 28 and Porsche Design Tower Miami P’0001. The tower has 60 floors and 132 apartments, and was completed last year says.

“This collaboration with M101 Holdings is important to Studio F. A. Porsche because it showcases a habitat or a living system that is designed by the studio. The partnership gives us the opportunity to create holistic living experiences for the purchasers, to come up with smart solutions and to translate our design philosophy into this project,” says head of Studio F. A. Porsche Asia, Mr. Tobias Hüttl.
