Morton’s Brings Together the Flavours of Italy and California for an Exclusive Wine Dinner Event

On July 27, Morton’s Singapore will welcome Master of Wine Annette Scarfe for a memorable evening of exquisite cuisine paired with six wonderful wines from California and Italy; curated by Annette Scarfe herself.

The exclusive event will give food and wine enthusiasts a unique opportunity to discover a variety of wines from the old and new worlds while enjoying a four course meal that has been specially prepared for the evening. Guests will be greeted with a warm welcome accompanied by a glass of sparkling wine from the Franciacorta region in Northern Italy (NV Franciacorta ‘Primum’, La Valle Brut DOCG). A delightful Lobster Salad makes up the first course which has been perfectly paired with a fresh, crisp white wine from the Italian region of Veneto (2014 Bianco Secco IGT, Quintarelli, Veneto).

A rich and creamy Californian Chardonnay (2015 Chardonnay Au Bon Climat, Santa Barbara) tantalises the palette and brings out the flavours in the evening’s second course; a satisfying Shrimp Alexander. The third course promises to be a show-stopper as it features two delectable wines to be enjoyed with Morton’s famous slow roasted Prime Rib served with truffle mashed potatoes and sautéed button mushrooms. The first wine on offer is from Italy’s dreamy Tuscany region, a blend of Merlot – Sangiovese gives this red wine its unique bold and 2 structured taste (2013 Luce della Vite IGT, Tuscany).

Also on offer during the third course is one of the most requested Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley, which is sure to leave a lasting impression (2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, Caymus). To end the evening on a sweet note, Morton’s brings to the table its mouth-watering Double Chocolate Mousse paired with a sweet wine from California’s Napa Valley (2007 Ca Togni, Philip Togni, Napa).
