Loewe Celebrates Launch of S/S 2018 Collection in Korea

On 14th November 2017, LOEWE celebrated the launch of Spring Summer 2018 collection at Layer 57 in Seoul, Korea in presence of the house’s Creative Director Jonathan Anderson.

The new collection was presented in an industrial space with large-scale tapestries, especially commissioned for the Spring Summer 2018 Women’s runway show, and Korean moonjars that provided a specific cultural context.

The collection is an interpretation of femininity which informs a highly textured collection of classic garments that have been innovatively reconfigured. The character is a worldly and craft-savvy traveller, whose utilitarian side is offset by a softness evident in pastel panels, gingham prints and paisleys.

With a cocktail reception for VIPs and media from the region and key opinion leaders, guests had the opportunity to preview the first look of the Spring Summer collection since its debut at Paris Fashion Week, making Korea the first stop off the runway.

The key highlight of the event was the arrival of Jonathan Anderson along with the attendance of local celebrities like So Young Ko, Woo-Sung Jung, Sulli, Joo Hyuk Nam, international influencer Irene Kim, models Na Young Kim and Ho Jung Lee. Jonathan Anderson, LOEWE Creative Director said: ‘Korea’s vibrant cultural and artistic scene fits well in LOEWE’s modern identity. I look forward to strengthening the brand’s presence in the country and collaborating with the teams there.’
