AFFLUENT’s Catherine Ng and Paul Tan were treated to a staycation at the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel, as part of Marriott International, Inc. new intriguing stay packages and incentives. It extends across their ten properties in Singapore, promoting irresistible Staycation deals for guests.

The award-winning Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel creates brilliant experiences for leisure and business travellers with contemporary comfort in 393 guest rooms, an exciting array of dining pleasures at five restaurants and bars, as well as pampering spa treatments at The Retreat.

From now until 31 October 2017, each of Marriott International’s ten superbly located properties will offer special rates that will also include either lavish breakfast, room upgrades, access to executive lounges, special welcome amenities or service credits to be used for exquisite dining experiences.

These special add-ons offer a plethora of choices tailored for every occasion. Along with these delightful specials offered by the hotels, destination experiences are also options you can go for to make your staycation all that more memorable.

Says Catherine, “Overall our stay was very pleasant with a lovely city view of ION Orchard. To summarise our experience, with “3 E’s”, I would call the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel an excellent hotel with excellent location and excellent service.”

With a minimum of two night stays, complete relaxation, luxury indulgences and a whole lot of fun are guaranteed minus the hassle of traveling, especially during the upcoming national and school holidays

What Catherine found stood out for her about the hotel that they also had a bar at their spacious Executive Lounge with a variety of complimentary cocktails/ mocktails which you can choose from their menu. The package includes breakfast for two at Marriott Cafe or $100 food & beverage dining credit per night, with a minimum of two nights stay.

“Being a cocktail-lover, I ordered from the bartender a Cucumber Cooler, and a Singapore Sling to go with those delicious bites.”

Touching on food, Catherine also delighted in the culinary delights the hotel offered. At Wan Hao, authentic, award-winning Cantonese cuisine is served amidst resplendent décor with Chinese gold leaf calligraphy and chinois artwork in this elegant Chinese restaurant. One of the most popular dishes is the famous Peking Duck, slightly crisp and crafted to perfection, served with traditional Chinese crepes.

Also known for serving up good authentic dim sum, this is the place to be at if you are craving for dim sum in Singapore. Under the delicate care of Dim Sum Chef Loh Kah Poh at Wan Hao, diners around Asia have been delighted time and again.

“The award winning Cantonese Cuisine at Wanhao was a standout for my stay in the hotel,” says Catherine.

The exclusive menu features other sumptuous dishes such as Double-boiled Chicken Consommé with Scallops, Egg White and Black Truffles, and the irresistible Spanish Iberico Char Siu. This is also a place to satiate your cravings for piping hot, delicate dim sum.
